Job Description

This is a great opportunity for someone with previous experience. Ideally already qualified to a Level 2 in Sports Turf Management and experienced in using a variety of agricultural machinery and tools, including cylindrical and rotary pedestrian lawnmowers. Reporting to the Head Groundsperson, you will be fully supported by the Club & Oldham College.

Training and Qualification

Work As an apprentice, you'll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You'll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff. What you'll do at work Advanced Sports Turf Technician apprenticeship standard. Level 2 Award in Safe Use of Pesticides (PA1) along with either PA2 (Boom Sprayer) OR PA6 (Handheld Applicators) or equivalents shown at https://www.hse.gov.uk/pesticides/resources/R/Recognised_certificates.pdf You will be attend regular training sessions in the workplace, delivered by your Tutor from Oldham College. Required Skills & Qualification

Essential qualifications GCSE or equivalent in: English (grade 9-4/A*-C) Maths (grade 9-4/A*-C) Desirable qualifications NVQ or SVQ Level 2 or equivalent in: Sports Turf Operative or equivalent (grade Pass) Let the company know about other relevant qualifications and industry experience you have. They can adjust the apprenticeship to reflect what you already know.
