Job Description

Brierley Medical Group has two surgeries in Skegby and Huthwaite, each with its own friendly reception team who welcome patients into the practice as well as completing other tasks. If you are a friendly, polite and helpful person, we would love to hear from you. We are seeking a second apprentice to join us in this role.

Training and Qualification

Work As an apprentice, you'll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You'll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff. What you'll do at work Level 2 Customer Service Practitioner Apprenticeship Standard, including Functional Skills if required You will work with expert assessors to develop new knowledge, skills and behaviours within the profession You will experience a blended learning model This is predominantly a workplace delivery programme, meaning that your learning will take place in work time and on work premises You will attend a minimum of six supportive workshops throughout your apprenticeship, specifically designed to help you to achieve the deisred outcomes of the apprenticeship You can attend these in person at our Derby Road, Mansfield campus or online via Microsoft Teams You will also attend monthly, online tutorials You will gather learning evidence, journals and off-the-job records using your e-portfolio At the end of the planned learning period, it will be agreed that you are ready to enter 'Gateway' and for your End Point Assessment to be arranged Where you'll work 127 SUTTON ROAD HUTHWAITE SUTTON IN ASHFIELD NG17 2NF

Desirable qualifications GCSE or equivalent in: English (grade 4/C) Maths (grade 4/C) Let the company know about other relevant qualifications and industry experience you have. They can adjust the apprenticeship to reflect what you already know. Skills Communication skills IT skills Attention to detail Customer care skills Logical Team working Non judgemental Patience Other You will need to be a confident and clear communicator who enjoys meeting and helping people. Genuine interest in the sector is advantageous

Skegby Family Medical Centre and Brierley Park Medical Centre merged in 2023 and are now known as Brierley Park Medical Group. The group remains in the same two sites but under the new name. Between both sites they provide healthcare to over 18,000 patients. Both practices have supported apprentices in completing qualifications that have given them a strong start to their careers both with and outside of the practice. The receptionist role within a GP Practice is fast paced and requires a diverse set of skills, from dealing with patients who may be poorly or elderly to expecting parents and everything in between. You will be supported by a workplace mentor to ensure you develop the skills and knowledge that are required to build a career within a general practice.
