Job Description

A Level 3 Apprentice Teaching Assistant with Hargate Primary School is the perfect way to help you decide what job you may want in the future. The opportunity will provide real work experience at the same time as gaining qualifications. Duties include: providing 1-1 support to pupils, supporting pupils with complex and profound multiple learning needs, and facilitating the pupil's development and skills in the use of resources, including IT.

Training and Qualification

Work As an apprentice, you'll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You'll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff. What you'll do at work As well as working towards a Level 3 Teaching Assistant Apprenticeship Standard, you will learn job-specific skills from experienced colleagues. Sandwell apprentices also participate in our bespoke 'Skills Academy' for apprentices. In addition to a workplace mentor you will receive support throughout your apprenticeship by a dedicated mentor from the Council's Apprenticeships team. Essential qualifications GCSE or equivalent in: English Language (grade A*-C/9-4 or L2 equivalent) Maths (grade A*-C/9-4 or L2 equivalent) Let the company know about other relevant qualifications and industry experience you have. You will need to have a due regard for Safeguarding and Child Protection, therefore you will be required to undertake an Enhanced DBS Check prior to commencing in the post. Annual leave must be taken outside of term time only.
