Job Description

Transport planning helps develop the future shape of our towns and cities, considering how transport will link people with places, including by encouraging sustainable modes of transport to replace journeys by car. You can be part of communicating these complex issues to the public, developers and politicians to help sustainable development happen.

Training and Qualification

Work As an apprentice, you'll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You'll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff. What you'll do at work This is a BTEC Level 3 Advanced Apprenticeship and on entry you will have at least 5 GCSEs at Grades 9 - 4 (A*-C) including English, Mathematics and Science or their equivalent. On successful completion of the apprenticeship and the end-point assessment, you will have satisfied the requirements for registration as an Engineering Technician (EngTech) and MCIHT. It is also mapped to the Transport Planning Society's Professional Development requirements offering the opportunity to access a work-based route to a career as a professional transport planner. The typical duration is between 24 - 36 months and is delivered as a block release in person or blended learning programme, with a mandatory end-point assessment.
