Job Description

This is a great opportunity to learn a wide variety of skills within the building industry with a focus on carpentry. You would provide support and assistance to one or more skilled carpenters/builders, including building, installing, removal, replacement, repair, maintenance of both internal and external carpentry/building works.

Training and Qualification

Work As an apprentice, you'll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You'll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff. What you'll do at work The apprentice will be working towards the Level 2 Carpentry & Joinery (Site Carpentry) Apprenticeship Standard qualification. Required Skills & Qualification

Essential qualifications GCSE in: maths and English (grade 3) Desirable qualifications GCSE in: maths and English (grade 4) Let the company know about other relevant qualifications and industry experience you have. They can adjust the apprenticeship to reflect what you already know. The job will involve travel to various sites, should there be a lot of extra travel we will pay extra for this. Collection from Chelmsford train station may be possible for the right candidate. Physical fitness is a must as there is a lot of heavy lifting involved. Usual hours will be from 8am to 4:30pm but you will be expected to be flexible when necessary to meet the needs of the team and targets. Steel toe cap boots will be required, high vis and other PPE will be provided.
