Job Description

Machining Apprenticeship within a Precision Engineering company specialising in the CNC manufacture of metal & plastic components used extensively in Scientific Instruments & Specialist Automotive Vehicle manufacture. The apprentice will work towards a Level 3 Machining Technician qualification.

Training and Qualification

Work As an apprentice, you'll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You'll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff. What you'll do at work The apprentice will work towards a Level 3 Machining Technician qualification.The apprentichip will be delivered on site through a mix of online sessions and meetings. Progress will be tracked through an online portfolio and work based learning will be recorded as evidence. The course will be concluded with an End Point assesment consiting of: Professional discussion. Observations. Presentation of evidence. Required Skills & Qualification

Essential qualifications GCSE or equivalent in: English (grade 4/C) Maths (grade 4/C) Science (grade 4/C) Desirable qualifications NVQ or SVQ Level 2 or equivalent in: engineering (grade pass) Let the company know about other relevant qualifications and industry experience you have. They can adjust the apprenticeship to reflect what you already know. Skills Communication skills IT skills Attention to detail Organisation skills Customer care skills Problem solving skills Presentation skills Administrative skills Number skills Analytical skills Logical Team working Creative Initiative Non judgemental Patience Physical fitness Other A driving license would be preferred but not essential. Some previous experience and /or a Level 2 qualification in Engineering would be an advantage but, again, is not essential.
