Training and Qualification

Work As an apprentice, you'll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You'll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff. Required Skills & Qualification

Desirable qualifications GCSE or equivalent in: English & maths (grade A*-C or 4-9) Let the company know about other relevant qualifications and industry experience you have. They can adjust the apprenticeship to reflect what you already know. Skills Communication skills Attention to detail Organisation skills Customer care skills Problem solving skills Number skills Logical Team working Creative Initiative Non judgemental Patience Other The business will ensure that the successful candidate has six hours scheduled during the week to work on their apprenticeship qualification. There will be opportunities for the apprentice to develop further skills by working at our sister establishments, the Verandah (a café/bar) and Babelas (a continental bar), both located opposite Christopher James.

About Employer

Christoper James is a long-established and well-regarded small delicatessen in the heart of Leicester's Clarendon Park area. It is popular with students, professionals and the local community, many of whom work at Leicester University. We took over the business about two months ago and it is doing well. We open from 0900 to 1700 Tuesday to Saturday. We sell Italian charcuterie, oils and sauces, premium sandwiches, pastas and cheeses.
