The candidate will have the opportunity to work across field based engineering, technical sales, spare parts, business support and health & safety. This will ultimately lead to a role in one of these departments depending on business requirements & personal interest. The apprentice will benefit from working alongside established professionals and undertaking product training which will support development of technical proficiencies and understanding. Taste of the job role: Provide field service for the complete range of SD machines both in the UK and abroad Commission machines to approved standards and within agreed time scales Service and repair machines and equipment to approved standards Configure machines to customers™ specifications Complete the company™s documentation on time and efficiently, particularly, Service reports, Commissioning reports, Spare parts return documentation, Logbook Fault finding, diagnosis and debugging on machines, supported by qualified engineer Maintain the company™s image and reputation Correctly maintain the company™s tools and equipment Skills & Qualities: Understand when to use different communication methods, such as in-person interactions, phone calls, or emails. Willingness to engage with customers and colleagues to comprehend their needs and resolve issues. Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365, particularly Excel and Word. Maintain a safe and focused approach while driving for company business. Show a keen interest in electrical, electronics, and mechanical engineering concepts. Willingness to deliver impactful customer service to both external customers and internal colleagues. Possess an honest and accountable approach to completing work tasks. Collaborate with colleagues across the business to resolve issues and suggest process improvements. Be flexible regarding travel requirements, including visiting customer sites or attending training at our European head office in Germany (with advanced notice). The training you will be getting You'll be studying at the Innovation & Technology, one day a week at Milton Keynes College for the Technical Support Technician, (The Standard for this Apprenticeship is under review so please note the title of this course and days at college may change for September 2024 intake) Throughout your apprenticeship you'll get: Expert mentors / trainers who will guide you through your apprenticeship Hands-on learning, who will give you real-world feedback Modern facilities with ample access to tech equipment and resources and much more!
