Apprentices working at TSI Turbo Service International. You will be working as part of the team, working to complete the requirements of our customers and internal demands. To ensure you gain the experience you will: Disassemble and reassemble mechanical assemblies Ensure equipment is maintained to a high and safe standard Inspect equipment and identify faulty components Carry out preventative maintenance work on plant and equipment Comply with TSI™s Health & Safety and Quality management systems Ensure quality, environmental, and health & safety procedures are adhered to Ensure safe use of hand tools, machinery, and other equipment Travel with Engineers off site to carry out work Travel to TSI™s sites internationally to carry out work Assist other disciplines when required Become aware of other department™s role in the business Accurately record hours of work Attend in-house training courses Attend equipment manufacturer courses Complete the company task and training book Carry out all other tasks as requested within the post holder™s appropriate skill set The training you will be getting Apprentices will undertake a Level 3 Apprenticeship Standard programme. This will include a full-time period of practical workshop based ˜off-the-job™ training at SETA™s Apprenticeship Centre in Southampton. You will also begin a knowledge qualification, a BTEC Diploma in Manufacturing Engineering, (depending on your prior attainments) where you will be required to attend SETA one day a week over two academic years. After your initial training at SETA, you will be with your employer, 4 days a week, working on developing your skills; ultimately leading to your End Point Assessment. SETA will make regular visits during this period of time to ensure you will covering all the required aspects of the Standard, which includes a practical element, a theory test and a professional discussion, regarding the work achieved with your employer. These final tests are administered by an independent assessment organisation and take place in the last three months of the apprenticeship. What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship On successful completion of the apprenticeship and qualification, a position of Trainee Field Service Engineer will be considered.
