The Apprentice will support the rest of the Tax and Customs team where necessary, and will be responsible for the following; Support Tax Analyst and Manager in preparation of UK Corporate Tax returns. Support Tax Analyst and Manager in weekly UK VAT internal reporting, and monitoring, file and payment of IOSS Ecommerce VAT returns. Assist in preparation of Ireland, CI and Germany VAT returns. Support to Head of Tax in raising Purchase Orders and receipting invoices. To ensure that data required for filing annual PAYE Settlement Agreement (PSA) is analysed and recorded on an Excel spreadsheet for Manager™s review and finalisation before filing on due date. The above involves analysing SAP 4Hana nominals and reviewing staff expenses including credit card expenses. Maintaining the VAT Opt to Tax on all new store leases and closures by liaising with Property team and completing the relevant paperwork for filing to be checked by Manager. Assistance and preparation of month end balance sheet reconciliations. Posting of journals into tax nominals. Raising of Purchase orders for tax fees and receipting of invoices General admin especially retrieving old copy invoices for the rest of the Tax team to facilitate analysis for filing or responses to HMRC enquiries in all taxes. Other admin duties include photocopying, scanning, archiving etc. Any other ad-hoc assignments as required. The training you will be getting The apprentice will work towards attaining the Finance Assistant “ Level 2 Apprenticeship qualification, with one day a week training at Weymouth College. Functional Skills in maths and English, if required. Apprentices will be required to take one of the professional qualifications listed below, as chosen by the employer to be most relevant to the job role: AAT Level 2 Certificate in Accounting ACCA Certificate in financial and management accounting (level 2) IAB Level 2 certificate in bookkeeping ICB Level 2 certificate in bookkeeping What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship Following completion of the apprenticeship the right candidate may be taken on as a permanent member of staff.
