Sets tables with appropriate table setting's ready for the next service Welcomes customers when they arrive at a restaurant Introduces customers to the menu and announces daily or seasonal menu specials Answers questions about menu items, ingredients, and pricing Takes customers' orders for food and drink by writing them on a ticket, entering them into the epos systems Prepares drinks and serves them to customers Collects food orders from the kitchen, verifies that they are correct, and serves them to customers Ensures that customers are satisfied with their meals and processes orders for additional courses if necessary Clearing tables of used dishes, glasses from tables Prepares bills and delivers them to customers Processes bill payments by cash or credit card payments and returns change to customers if necessary Maintains familiarity with menu items, specials, and restaurant information Meets with managers and wait staff daily or regularly in order to learn about menu changes and specials as well as discuss upcoming reservations and customers with special needs Assisting the Restaurant Managers in the general daily running of our restaurant's and food service venues with breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner service Assisting the Restaurant Manager in setting service standards and setting-up standards within the daily service operations of the restaurant Assisting the Restaurant Manager in departmental cleanliness in all operational front of house and back of house areas Assisting with drinks & wine service in the restaurant as an overall part of restaurant and event service Adhering to the Cellar Management and Stock Up procedures Ensuring bills are correctly posted and presented to Guests Ensuring cash-ups at the end of shifts are carried out correctly and ensure you take responsibility for all cash whilst on duty Helping Restaurant Managers by assuming part of the responsibility as directed in training any existing waiting staff and any new staff in SOP’s and agreed standards so as to maintain consistent standards of service in the restaurant and for events Assisting the Restaurant Manager in setting Hygiene and Cleaning standards in the department and upholding a high level of cleanliness throughout the department Liaising with guests in a friendly and professional manner so as to make them feel welcome at all times and to provide the best and most attentive service to all guests at all times

Training and Qualification

Hospitality Team Member Apprenticeship Standard Level 2 On-the-job training - helps an apprentice develop the specific skills for food & beverage within an hotel environment Training will be weekly and within working hours which will include weekends
