This is a fantastic opportunity to enter the insurance industry, Underwriting Technician Apprentices would be a valued and integral part of our Commercial Express Underwriting team. Helping to provide support services to our new and existing business underwriting teams.

Training and Qualification

Work As an apprentice, you'll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You'll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff. What you'll do at work Apprentices will work towards the Insurance Practitioner Level 3 Apprenticeship Standard: Fully and part funded learning and development programme that includes the Cert CII Develop the knowledge, skills and behaviours of successful Insurance Practitioners Role-specific route ways tailor the apprenticeship to the job role: Claims Handler/Loss Adjuster Assistant Underwriter Junior Broker Free CII membership for non-members through the CII Aspire Apprenticeship Programme: Includes digital CII study books and exam entries Resit costs for CII exams and End-Point-Assessment will be covered by the employer Fortnightly workshops for each CII exam All workshops recorded and available on-demand Interactive chat, forums and class notebooks for real time support and assistance from experienced and qualified insurance professionals Exam tips, tricks, and strategies Regular tutorials and assessments with sector experts Where you'll work B1 CUSTOM HOUSE THE WATERFRONT LEVEL STREET BRIERLEY HILL DY5 1XH

Required Skills & Qualification

Essential qualifications GCSE or equivalent in: English (grade Grade 4(C)) Maths (grade Grade 4(C)) Desirable qualifications GCSE or equivalent in: 3 Additional Subjects (grade Grade 4(C)) Let the company know about other relevant qualifications and industry experience you have. They can adjust the apprenticeship to reflect what you already know. Skills Communication skills IT skills Attention to detail Organisation skills Customer care skills Number skills Team working Initiative Other The Apprentice starting salary will be aimed at £18,000 but Commercial Express would be prepared to go up to £18,500 to secure suitable candidates. Due to FCA regulations, Apprentices will be required to conduct basic Finance and DBS checks. Commercial Express will arrange and pay for these checks. Following successful completion of the 18-month Apprenticeship and achieving the CII qualification, Commercial Express is able to offer fulltime permanent employment contracts. Starting salary for permanent role would be £25,000 Per annum. Commercial Express offers hybrid working which is the ability to work from both the office and home if desired. Initially Apprentices will be fulltime office based to help build relationships and effective training. In time they may have the opportunity to work from home up to 3 days a week if they wish and have suitable working environment. Apprentices would receive Health and safety training to assist in their home DSE setup and required to complete a home risk assessment. All IT equipment will be provided to facilitate both office and home working. Must have the Right to Work in the UK (no visa sponsorship provided)
