The Current Science Association has announced an exciting opportunity for science enthusiasts with a flair for writing. The association is inviting applications for its Science Writing Fellowship programme, offering selected candidates the chance to work in the editorial office of the prestigious journal Current Science. 

Fellowship Details 

- Duration: One year, extendable for another year based on performance 

- Location: Editorial office of Current Science, Bengaluru 

- Stipend: Rs 25,000 per month (higher stipend possible for deserving candidates) 

Eligibility Criteria 

- Essential Qualification: Bachelor's degree in any branch of science (B.Sc.) 

- Desirable Qualifications: 

  - Postgraduate degree in science, literature, journalism, or mass communication 

  - Flair for writing and wide interest in diverse scientific fields 

  - Basic computer skills 

- Age Limit: Not more than 35 years as of 1 March 2024 

Selected fellows will be integral to the editorial process at Current Science. Their responsibilities will include: 

1. Writing regularly for the News, Research News, and General sections of the journal 

2. Assisting the editorial staff in the publication process 

3. Covering a wide range of scientific disciplines, including physical, biological, medical, earth, planetary, and atmospheric sciences, as well as engineering, economic, social, and management sciences
