The Leisure Team Member will have a love of sports and fitness, and be physically active themselves. They will play a vital role in improving public health by supporting, enhancing and delivering the day to day operations and services of a leisure / fitness facility. Supporting the day to day operations and services of a leisure / fitness facility Working directly with children and adults of all ages Working collaboratively with a wide range of partner organisations Undertaking routine maintenance of equipment and maintaining the cleanliness and safety of the environment They may need to act as a Lifeguard, Swimming Teacher, Gym Instructor, and Group Activity Leader Setting up equipment for activities, events and competitions Offering excellent customer service as a first point of contact for customers, answering queries and dealing with straightforward complaints (underpinned by excellent product knowledge) Maintaining accurate records and promoting activities using facilities IT systems By the end of the apprenticeship, the apprentice will have the skills to work as a Fitness Instructor, Lifeguard and Swimming Teacher. The training you will be getting The blended learning delivery design encompasses a range of methods to engage apprentices and offers a rich and exciting programme. Your training programme will involve: Level 2 Leisure Team Member Apprenticeship Standard Level 2 Award in Pool Lifeguarding Level 2 Certificate in Fitness or Gym Instruction Level 3 certificate in First Aid Level 2 in Teaching Swimming Functional Skills in maths and English if needed Skills festival days for additional added value CPD: Safeguarding / Prevention Mental Health and Wellbeing Employability skills What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship By the end of the apprenticeship, the apprentice will have the skills to work as a Fitness Instructor, Lifeguard and Swimming Teacher.
