Training and Qualification

Work As an apprentice, you'll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You'll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff. What you'll do at work You will work toward a level 2 diploma in advanced manufacturing engineering (foundation competence), a level 3 diploma in advanced manufacturing engineering (development competence) €“ mechatronics maintenance technician. You will attend Solihull College & University Centre (Woodlands Campus) potentially two days a week in the first year and then one day a week from year two onwards. Essential qualifications GCSE or equivalent in: English (grade 4) Maths (grade 4) Science (grade 4) Let the company know about other relevant qualifications and industry experience you have. They can adjust the apprenticeship to reflect what you already know. Skills Technical skills Maintenance skills Logical thinking skills Proactive Drive €“wanting to succeed Adaptability Flexibility Other Work will take place inside of a clean and dry room environment €“ this can be stressful/difficult to work in due to the lack of moisture. Specialist PPE will have to be worn inside of the rooms due to this and this will require a greater degree of dexterity to be able to perform the role to the best of their ability. Are you fully aware that maintenance is focussed on the repair and improvement of equipment and requires considerable €œhands on€ time to conduct this.
