The Nilgiris is a location known as a tourist destination of Modern India and for its deeply rooted rich native culture with a lingering tinge of the Colonial past. Once considered as a difficult district for medical services because of its geographical and climatic constraints, it has shown the most forward strides in Medical care and pioneering work among the people of this region. I consider it as a great privilege to serve this district by means of starting this new Medical College and to provide modern medical care to this area where it always has been a dream. I am extremely happy to welcome the new batch of Indian Medical graduates to the MBBS course at Government Medical College, The Nilgiris. I ensure that the students will have the best of facilities in terms of infrastructure, academics and hostel facilities. Our faculty have been trained and specialized at premier institutions of our country, who keep themselves updated regularly.
