The Medical College at JNU is dedicated to delivering world class education, research and other scholarly activities that benefit patients and society, healthcare practice and practitioners and the healthcare education community significantly. The College provides acknowledged educational programs that span the breadth and depth of the knowledge necessary to train the next generation of medical practitioners. World class laboratories equipped with the most advanced equipment, animal simulations, skill development lab and a vast patient pool makes it the best example of “learning by doing”. The students are motivated to inquire and explore new techniques for a better understanding, diagnosis & treatment of serious ailments. Faculty members are highly-engaged and passionate about their work, conducting research, teaching classes and mentoring and nurturing students to be better at everything they do. The Medical College is committed to maintain high academic standards and continuously enhance the quality of learning and teaching process. The College building houses the eight pre and para-clinical departments of Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry, Pathology, Microbiology, Pharmacology, Forensic Medicine and Community Medicine. All the departments are well equipped and have separate research labs. Lecture Theatres are air conditioned and furnished with modern facilities and e learning tools like wifi, LCD projectors, over head projectors, mikes etc. Along with departmental libraries, there is a well stocked Central Library with more than 11000 books, National and International Journals, computer lab with internet facility and computer simulation programmes for undergraduate teaching. The stakeholders are all committed to support a vibrant intellectual environment, with the ultimate goal of translating ground-breaking discoveries into medical therapies that will eradicate disease and improve health care in the communities locally and even beyond. We coordinate efforts with others within the University framework to optimize the development and meaningful engagement of healthcare professionals, ensuring that our endeavours are mindful of the evolving contexts and demands for healthcare educators and practitioners.
