ABOUT Universität Bremen
The University of Bremen, with 290 professors and 19,000 students a medium-sized university with a wide range of subjects . It offers more than 100 degree programs in 30 disciplines. The University has introduced early the new bachelor and master degree system and has been out of the German Rectors' Conference named "University of Bologna". It was founded in 1971 and has in its short history on science center in north-west Germany developed. Some of the adopted in establishing new routes, as well as "Bremen model" are now seen as characteristics of modern universities. Examples are interdisciplinary, research-based project learning, practical orientation and social responsibility (see Sustainability Report of the University ). The University of Bremen has since its foundation for entitlement to a close link between research and teaching. In particular, the project studies ("Bremen model") is a separate and independent elements aligned on social issues learning. This is reflected even today in a number of study elements of the distinctive interdisciplinarity as well as in the key objectives of the University. In surveys, measures and processes discussion it is clear that teachers and students at a high willingness, the close link between teaching and research a priority. The future development of educational profile will have the focus on the exploratory study, the anchoring of extensive curricular key competences as well as the supportive involvement of elearning shares.
