ABOUT Universite Gustave Eifeel

Young University, established in 1991 under the Plan University 2000, University of Marne-la-Vallée is a Public Establishment Cultural, Scientific and Professional. It takes a new name in 2007 and became Université Paris-Est Marne-la-Vallée (UPEMLV), following the creation of the PRES Université Paris-Est it is a founding member. The UPEMLV increased responsibilities and powers extended to the 1 st January 2009. It is mainly localized in the New Town of Marne-la-Vallée, the Cité Descartes, in an area where local authorities are working to controlled urban development retaining the rich heritage and natural areas.
